Which saw blade fits my circular saw?

We have mostly sorted the circular saw blades by size, since the selection of the right saw blade always depends on the outer diameter of the blade and the diameter of the inner bore. These dimensions must match the dimensions of the circular saw on which the blade will be used.

Example:

  • Outer diameter saw blade: 250mm
  • Bore diameter: 30mm

The matching circular saw blade can be found in the category: 250 x 30

Just a few clicks to the right circular saw blade

Please select the appropriate size range for your hand circular saw, plunge saw, table circular saw or sliding table saw. You will then receive a second, finer selection of circular saw blades, in which you select the suitable bore of the circular saw blade. In the next step, the cutting quality and material are determined. Here, the number of teeth and the coating of the saw blade determine which circular saw blade is the right one for the intended application.

Circular Saw blades for wood

If you want to saw wood in particular, you will find all circular saw blades for wood here.

Circular Saw blades of professional brands

Our entire saw blade range comes from renowned European manufacturers such as TREND, FREUD ,Festool and Karnasch . The selection we offer is designed to always meet the demands of  Woodworking Professionals. However every woodworker, whether professional or ambitious hobbyist is always well advised to use a high quality circular saw blade. This ensures safety at work and the best cutting results. We don't supply the cheeper, lower quality blades often offered in large retail stores Rely on our knowledge as a specialist supplier of circular saw blades that meet the highest demands, you won't be dissapointed .

Reducing rings for your saw blade

If you do not find the required size selection, a reducing ring may be a suitable solution for you. The high quality rings are inserted into the bore and thus the bore of the saw blade is reduced.

Frequently asked questions about Circular saw blades - huge selection

  • 1. How do I find a suitable circular saw blade for my project?

If you are looking for a suitable circular saw blade, there are a few basic rules to follow. First of all you need to know the right size of saw blade for your circular saw. The measurements you need are:

    • The outer diameter of the circular saw blade
    • The diameter of the hole in the middle

When you have these two values, the next step is to determine the cutting width and quality of cut. Depending on the wood or material you want to cut, saw blades of different widths with different numbers of teeth are suitable. You will find these two values, in addition to the outer diameter and the diameter of the hole, in the article description of the saw blade.

    Example: Circular saw blade HM 125 x 2.4/1.6 x 20 mm, Z=24

    Diameter: 125 mm
    Cutting width: 2.4 mm
    Blade thickness: 1.6 mm
    Bore diameter: 20 mm
    Number of teeth: 24

  • 2. How many teeth should my circular saw blade have?

Depending on the number of teeth and how the teeth are positioned, determines which applications the saw blade is suitable for. Basically there are three groups:

Saw blades with less than 36 teeth

Circular saw blades with less than 36 teeth are excellently suited for fast rip cuts and, thanks to their large teeth, are particularly impressive with good cutting performance. This results in a coarse and rough cut.

Saw blades with 36 to 48 teeth

Circular saw blades with more than 36 to 48 teeth are preferably used for cross cuts and thus correspond to a medium to fine cutting quality.

Saw blades with more than 60 teeth

If a circular saw blade has 60 or even more teeth, it is optimal for extra fine cuts. But it is also ideal for cutting harder materials.

In short: circular saw blades with fewer but large teeth are suitable for rip cuts along the grain. Saw blades with several small teeth are ideal for cross cuts against the wood fibre. And: The more teeth a saw blade has, the finer and cleaner the cut.

Our recommendation:  Our best selling blades are from worlds leading blade producer, the Italian manufacturer FREUD they offer a large selection of saw blades from fine to coarse cut with a top price-performance ratio. Their series "Die Roten". are the most popular
  • 3. Which tooth angle is suitable for my application?

There are the following tooth angles:

    • Positive tooth angle: The tips of the teeth point diagonally forward. They are perfectly suited for working on wood.
    • Neutral tooth angle: The tips of the teeth are set straight. They are excellently suited for working on metal.
    • Negative tooth angle: The tips of the teeth point diagonally backwards. They are excellent for sawing hard materials.
  • 4. What can I cut with a circular saw?

There is a suitable saw blade for almost every building material. The most common materials that can be cut with a circular saw are wood, aluminium and plastics, but also steel, stone, fibre cement and plasterboard.

  • 5. Which saw blade do I need for which material?

In addition to universal blades, we also offer circular saw blades designed especially for specific wood types.

    • Softwood (e.g. pine and spruce)
    • Hardwood (e.g. beech, oak, ash)
    • Firewood and construction timber (May still contain screws or nails)
    • Woodlike materials (e.g. laminate)

Our circular saw blades for hardwood are finer saw blades with at least 70 teeth. If you want to be strong against the fibre, it is best to choose a blade with even more teeth. The very fine toothing makes it possible to separate the wood fibres without tearing them out.

With firewood and construction timber, it is not the beauty of the cut that matters, but rather the speed. For this application, we recommend a coarse circular blade with about 24 teeth for this application.

For laminates, our recommendation is for a fine saw blade, as these cuts should be free of tearing. This also applies to heavily veneered or plastic-coated boards. For this purpose, it is best to use a tear-free saw blade.

    Our tip:

Do you want to cut materials containing nails or screws without removing them first?, then you should get a nail-proof (NF) saw blade, normal blades are quickly ruined by these things. Caution: Loose nails, staples or even branches can lead to the chipping of the carbide teeth.

  • 6. What is a NF circular saw blade?

If you want to cut wood with foreign material (e.g. nails or screws) and you do not want to remove them before, you should use a nail resistant saw blade.( NF meaning nail-proof) A normal saw blade could dull or break quickly

  • 7. Which speed do I need to use?

In general, you will find the information on the maximum speed on the circular saw blade. If this is no longer legible or it was not printed at all, there is a general rule of thumb -  the blade diameter dictates the maximum speed for cutting wood.  The maximum speeds for cutting other materials can vary considerably.

In short: the smaller the saw blade diameter, the higher the maximum permissible speed.
