For 166 years, the company Wilh. Schmitt & Comp. GmbH & Co. KG has been manufacturing hand tools for woodworking in the Bergisches Land region. There is hardly a German carpenter who has not worked with chisels bearing the trademark of the two cherries - hence the name 'Kirschen' which translates to 'cherries' - and with pleasure: Top quality from the toolmaking town of Remscheid. 

The quality of Kirschen chisels is based as much on the manufacturer's many years of experience as on the fact that many of the production processes are carried out by hand. Although modern machinery is available for basic processes, the finishing touches are the domain of experienced and highly qualified craftsmen. 

The sautershop offers chisels from Kirschen in different versions: the classic version with hornbeam handles, but also the more modern ones with two-component plastic staples. The wooden handles will appeal (not only) to traditionalists, especially as the new lacquer finish offers an even more appealing feel - with the same protective effect. The plastic handles are particularly suitable for outdoor use and construction sites as they are weather and impact resistant. The chisels are also available in both handle variants as a set with the most common sizes (optionally also in a wooden box or in a leather roll-up bag). The range is rounded off by a number of special chisels (offset with pointed cutting edge; short chisels) and matching accessories: cutting edge protection and leather roll bags.
