For 166 years, the company Wilh. Schmitt & Comp. GmbH & Co. KG has been manufacturing hand tools for woodworking in the Bergisches Land region. Hardly any German carpenter has not worked with chisels bearing the trademark of the two cherries – and done so with pleasure: the best quality from the tool-making city of Remscheid.

The quality of the Kirschen chisels is based as much on the manufacturer’s long experience as on the fact that many of the steps in the production process are carried out by hand. While modern machinery is available for fundamental processes, the final touches (this is where the term applies) and much more are the domain of experienced and highly skilled employees.

Sautershop offers chisels from Kirschen in various versions: the classic version with beechwood handles, as well as the more modern ones with two-component plastic handles. The wooden handles will appeal to (not only) traditionalists, especially since the new lacquer formula provides an even more pleasant feel – while offering the same level of protection. The plastic handles are particularly well-suited for outdoor use and construction sites, as they are weather- and impact-resistant. The chisels are available in both handle versions as sets with the most common sizes (optionally in a wooden box or leather roll case).

The program is rounded off with some special chisels (cranked with a pointed edge; short chisels) and useful accessories: blade protectors, leather roll cases, and marking knives.
