THE OFL3.0K STARTER SET*
Includes the patented sauter OFL3.0K router lift and a 1.8 horsepower, ultraeffecient router motor made specifically for the U.S. market by the German manufacturer Suhner. Delivered with a sauter hand crank, a 1/4" collet and three magnetic, galvanized steel reduction plates.

In addition to the patented sauter OFL3.0K router lift and the1.8 horsepower, ultraeffecient router motor from Suhner, this bundle also includes a hand crank, a 1/4" collet and a 1/2" collet, a starter pin with protection shield and a set of 9 different reduction plates.
*All router lift sets are available in both blue and red anodized aluminium.
I get excited every time I get to use my OFL3.0. Being able to set the angle on the router motor means I have to build far fewer jigs to position my stock at an angle. No other lift I know of has this capability.

THE FML-BR-K STARTER SET*
Contains the FML-BR-K router lift with dust extraction connector and the ultra-efficient, 1.8 horsepower Suhner router motor with a 1/4" collet made specifically for the U.S. market. A sauter hand crank and 3 reduction plates are also included.
THE FML-BR-K BUNDLE*
Contains the FML-BR-K router lift and Suhner router motor as well as a sauter hand crank, a 1/4" collet and a 1/2" collet. A starter pin with protection shield and a total of 10 different reduction plates are also included.

Are sauter lifts compatible with my existing router table?

They are compatible with many of the most common router tables available in North America - see our list above.
Can I replace an existing lift with a sauter lift?

Of course. Many of customers choose to replace a standard phenol lift delivered with their table with a higher quality aluminum one. Make sure your cutout is the right size (9-1/4" x 11-3/4" (x 3/8") and that you've got room below your table, in particular for the tilting mechanism of the OFL3.0K.
Are sauter lifts compatible with North American routers and router motors?

No. sauter lifts are built for European sized router motors with a 43mm neck. As such, in North America, we only sell them together in a bundle with the German-made Suhner UAK 30-RF SPZ-L. This is a 120V motor with 1.8 HP and a standard North American plug.
Is there a guarantee on the lift? What do I do in the event of a malfunction?

There is a minimum two-year guarantee on both the lift and the motor. That said, these products are extremely durable and we hardly ever have problems with them. If you're one of the rare cases, contact us. We'll sort it out.
Do the lifts come with an inch-scale for height adjustment?

Not at the moment. We considered doing this but would have had to retool the entire spindle to allow for useful inch markings on the router plate. For now, we ask North American customers to use a gauge, caliper or other measuring device. For those interested, each notch on the scale is 0.1mm.
Are there installation instructions?

Yes, the lifts are delivered with instruction to ensure a stable, snug, perfectly flat mount. You may also find the installation video done by the UK woodworker Peter Millard helpful.
What installation options are there?
▶
In our view, there are three ways to implement a sauter lift into your workshop: 1) Replace an existing lift in a pre-cut table; 2) Install the lift in a custom table or 3) Buy a ready-made sauter router table with a pre-cut tabletop. We are currently in the process of making videos to show all these builds.
Do the lifts come with mounting kits and/or cutout templates?

Mounting kits, cutout templates and corresponding router bits and leveling frames are not part of the bundles. If you do need them (not everyone does), they are available for purchase in our shop and are linked as accessories alongside the lifts.
How do I attach the motor?
▶
Simply fit the neck of the router motor into the clamp and tighten the allen screws. There are two of them on the OFL3.0K and just one on the FML-BR-K.
Why does the Suhner motor only have 1.8 horsepower?
▶
Simply put, that's all it needs. Suhner traditionally makes motors for industrial production lines with an emphasis on high torque and high efficiency. Where a "run of the mill" router might deliver 65% efficiency, Suhner motors clock in at 85%. For DIY woodworking projects, this is generally wholly sufficient.
What cutters can I use with the motor?

The Suhner motor comes with a standard 1/4 inch collet and chuck in Starter products. If you purchase a Bundle, we also include a 1/2 inch collet. Any router bit in between these two will also work.
Do the products come with reduction plates?
▶
Yes. The OFL3.0K comes with either 3 reduction plates (Starter) or 9 (Bundle). The FML-BR-K comes with either 2 reduction plates (Starter) or 8 (Bundle). For more information, please see the individual products in our shop.
What is the difference between the red and blue models?
▶
Just the color! Choose whichever model looks best in your router table and workshop.
Is there a safety switch included?
▶
It is not included but is available as an accessory. It makes turning your router motor on/off much easier, and it's much safer, so we do recommend it.
