Freud's journey began crafting saw blades for the furniture industry in Northern Italy. Today, while continuing to serve industrial clients with high-quality products, Freud has expanded its offerings to include saw blades for trade professionals and private users.

Freud products are crafted from premium steels with cutting edges made from proprietary TiCo hard metal (titanium-cobalt-tungsten carbide), a unique blend developed in-house, setting Freud apart as the only cutting tool manufacturer globally to use its own hard metal.

To enhance tool longevity, the cutting edges are bonded to the tool body using a special three-layer soldering process. The tool bodies are also treated with a coating to prevent corrosion and resin accumulation, reduce friction, and prevent overheating, which could lead to deformation. This Perma-Shield® coating is easily identifiable by its vibrant red color. Additionally, some Freud saw blades feature an ICE-Silver coating to improve glide and resist corrosion.

These blades come in both standard and specialized sizes for various materials, including light & non-ferrous metals, plastics, fiber cement, and coated material panels, in addition to the traditional hardwood and softwood.
