The predecessor company of HECO was founded in 1888 by the inventor and entrepreneur Karl Hettich in Schramberg. From this, the manufacturer of furniture fittings Hettich and the screw-specialized company HECO (since 1967) emerged in the 20th century. HECO is distinguished by a range of innovative products, including the HECO-FIX® chipboard screw introduced in 1978, and an extensive line of screws of all types.
